A Stainless Steel Muffler is Not Necessarily Special

Like all flowers are not sweet, all human beings are not musicians and all working animals are not donkeys; so is all stainless steel mufflers are not special. So, what are special stainless steel mufflers? Before knowing about these mufflers, let’s define what does ‘special’ stand for in a motorcycle riding experience. Well, if a motorcycle exhaust pipe is EPA-compliant, good in performance, has added horse power and perfect looks as per your requirements and last but not least is affordable for you; it’s special for you.

There might be some questions regarding the ‘relativity’ varying from person to person, so, I generalized all the key points that are usually most concerned with the motorcycle lovers while buying a motorcycle muffler. Now, if you agree with me on points that mentioned above to explain the ‘specialty’ of a motorcycle exhaust pipe, I will move forward.

There is one more point that provides the basis for all these points. If this point is missing, sooner or later, you will find some or all other points missing in your motorcycle muffler. So, this is the point that makes a motorcycle pipe special or not. So, what is this point? The substance used as the construction material.

Different manufacturers use different materials in these pipes. However, I’d suggest going for a stainless steel muffler of grade 304 for logical reasons. Stainless steel grade 304 is highly resistant to extreme temperatures and hence is not affected whether you drive you motorcycle in a freezing winter or in a very hot summer. This never lets you buy another muffler because it’s durable and the performance of the motorcycle is perfect even after 20 years. One more benefit of these mufflers is that the manufacturers provide you warranty against it because stainless steel 304 gives them confidence.

Don’t go for a stainless steel muffler if it’s not of grade 304.
